The Orange Ball's Magic Splash

orangewaterpadel

Mia loved playing padel more than anything. Every afternoon after school, she would rush to the court behind her house, racquet in hand, ready to hit the bright orange ball back and forth across the net.

One sunny day, Mia hit the ball especially hard. It sailed over the fence, over the bushes, and landed with a splash in the nearby pond.

"Oh no!" Mia cried, running to the water's edge. "My favorite ball!"

She peered into the rippling water, expecting to see the orange ball floating. Instead, she saw something magical—tiny droplets of water were dancing together, forming the shape of a small, smiling creature made entirely of pond water.

"Hello!" said the water creature. "I'm Splash! Your orange ball was so full of happy energy that when it hit my water, it woke me up!"

Mia's eyes widened. "You're alive?"

"I am now!" Splash twinkled like liquid sunshine. "Would you like to play padel with me?"

"But you're made of water," Mia said. "How can you hold a racquet?"

Splash giggled and transformed into a perfect sphere of water. "I don't need a racquet! I can BE the ball!"

They played the most wonderful game of padel ever. Mia would hit Splash gently, and instead of bouncing, Splash would swirl through the air like a rainbow, changing shape with every hit—sometimes a fish, sometimes a star, sometimes a tiny cloud.

Other water creatures emerged to watch: frogs, dragonflies, and even a shy turtle who clapped slowly. They all cheered as Mia and Splash played together.

"This is the best day ever!" Mia laughed.

From then on, Mia visited Splash every day after school. She learned that the best friends aren't always the ones you expect to find, and that magic can appear in the most surprising places—even in an orange ball's splash.

Sometimes, if you look closely at the water, you might see Splash still there, waiting for the next game of padel, and the next wonderful friendship to begin.
