The Ocean's Secret Game

Leo loved his baseball more than anything. It was worn and scuffed, just the way he liked it. Every afternoon, he'd toss it high and catch it, dreaming of becoming a famous player.

One day, Leo threw his ball extra high. It sailed over the fence and splashed into the ocean! He rushed to the edge, tears welling in his eyes. That's when he saw something amazing.

A tiny blue head popped up from the water. It was a baby whale!

"Hello!" the whale chirped. "I'm Splash. Did you lose this?"

The whale balanced Leo's baseball on her nose. Leo couldn't believe it—whales could talk!

"I'm Leo," he whispered. "That's my favorite baseball. Can I have it back?"

Splash flicked the ball into the air. Leo caught it, then noticed something strange. A thick black cable stretched from the beach all the way into the ocean depths.

"What's that cable for?" Leo asked.

"It's our friendship line!" Splash explained. "Humans and ocean creatures used to play together every day. But everyone forgot about us... until you came along."

Leo's eyes widened. "You want to play baseball?"

"We've been waiting for someone to throw the ball back!" Splash sang happily.

From that day on, Leo returned to the beach every afternoon. He learned that magic lives in unexpected places. Through the mysterious cable, he and Splash played the world's most special game—baseball between land and sea.

The other children thought Leo was making up stories. But Leo didn't mind. He knew the best secrets are the ones you keep in your heart, shared only with true friends.

Sometimes, if you look closely at the ocean, you might still see a baseball flying through the air, bridging two worlds in the most wonderful game ever played.
