The Ocean's Secret Friend
Mia lived in a tiny blue house right beside the sparkling sea. Every morning, she'd count the **palm** trees swaying in the breeze—seven of them, like seven green friends waving hello. But Mia wished for a real friend her own age.
One day, while building sandcastles, she noticed something strange. An old **cable** snaked out of the sand, glowing with tiny pulses of blue light. Curious, Mia tugged gently. It hummed like a sleepy cat.
Suddenly, the water bubbled. A shimmering silver dolphin popped up! He had the biggest, kindest eyes Mia had ever seen.
"I'm Finn," the dolphin said. "That **cable** connects my world to yours. Would you like to see where I live?"
Mia's heart soared. "Yes! But I'm not good at **swimming**."
"Just hold onto my fin," Finn said. "I'll keep you safe."
And that's how Mia's underwater adventures began. Every afternoon, she'd go **swimming** with Finn through coral kingdoms rainbow-bright and secret caves full of twinkling pearls. They played hide-and-seek with shy octopuses and raced with speedy sea turtles.
Mia became an ocean **spy**, discovering secrets: how jellyfish glow, why crabs walk sideways, and where baby seahorses hide. Finn taught her the language of bubbles—two bubbles meant "hello," three meant "I'm happy."
One day, Mia noticed the glowing cable had faded. Finn looked worried. "The magic is weakening. Soon, I won't be able to visit you."
Mia's eyes filled with tears. "But you're my best **friend**!"
"True friends never truly say goodbye," Finn said, nudging her hand. "The ocean will always remember you, and you'll always carry the sea in your heart. Besides..." He winked. "Real magic lives inside you now."
The cable's last glow was a single perfect bubble. Mia watched it rise and remembered: three bubbles meant "I'm happy."
Now, whenever Mia misses Finn, she closes her eyes and listens. And sometimes, just sometimes, she can still hear him calling her name—in the splash of waves and the rustle of **palm** fronds, forever her ocean **friend**.
