The Ocean's Secret Friend
Lily loved her blue fishing hat more than anything. It had belonged to her grandfather, and she wore it everywhere she went. One sunny afternoon, she skipped toward the sparkling beach, her favorite spot in the whole world.
The ocean waves crashed against the shore, and salty air filled her lungs. Lily sat on the warm sand and noticed something strange. A little girl about her age sat alone, clutching something in her hands.
"Hi!" Lily called out, waving. "I'm Lily. What's your name?"
The girl looked up with teary eyes. "I'm Mia. I dropped something important in the water."
Lily rushed over. "What did you drop?"
Mia held up her hand, showing a small silver iPhone. "My dad gave this to me before he went away. It has his last message, and now it's gone forever."
Lily's heart squeezed. She knew how precious special things could be. "Don't worry! We'll find it together."
Both girls searched through the shallow water, their hands moving through the gentle waves. Suddenly, something magical happened. A tiny, glowing fish appeared, wearing the tiniest top hat Lily had ever seen.
"Are you looking for something?" the fish asked, his voice sounding like bubbles.
Lily and Mia gasped. "You can talk!"
"I'm Finn, a friend to those who help others," the fish said. "I saw what happened. A curious crab took your phone. Follow me!"
The girls swam deeper into the crystal-clear water, hand in hand. Colorful fish danced around them as Finn led them to an underwater castle made of coral and pearls. Inside, a wise old crab sat wearing a crown.
"I borrowed your phone because I wanted to learn about your world," the crab explained. "But now I understand that some things are too precious to keep."
The crab returned the iPhone, which sparkled as if it had never been wet at all.
"Thank you!" Mia cried, hugging the phone tight. "Will you be our friend?"
"Always," Finn replied. "Come visit anytime."
Lily and Mia emerged from the water, now best friends forever. They learned that the best treasures aren't things at all — they're the friends we make along the way.
And sometimes, just sometimes, the ocean has magical secrets for those brave enough to believe.
