The Ocean Cable Adventure
Lila pressed her small hand against the glass of the submarine window. Outside, blue water shimmered with tiny bubbles that looked like floating diamonds. She was on her way to visit the mermaid kingdom, and she could barely contain her excitement.
"Hold this orange," said Captain Finn, handing her a bright fruit. "The mermaids love sweet things."
Lila nodded, clutching the orange as the submarine descended deeper. Suddenly, a thick metal cable appeared outside the window. It stretched from the surface all the way down to the ocean floor, covered in colorful seaweed and winking shells.
"That's the magic friendship cable," Captain Finn explained. "It connects the human world to the mermaid kingdom. Without it, no one would believe mermaids exist."
When they arrived, Lila met Marina, a young mermaid with turquoise hair. Marina invited Lila to go swimming with her school of fish friends. Lila put on her magic bubble helmet and slipped into the water. Fish of every color—pink, yellow, silver—swirled around her like living confetti. Marina showed her coral castles and gardens that glowed in the deep water.
But Lila noticed something sad. The mermaid princess looked sick and tired.
"What's wrong?" Lila asked.
"We haven't had our ocean spinach in weeks," Marina said sadly. "It grows in the secret garden, but the path is blocked."
Lila had an idea. She swam to the surface and back, following the friendship cable. She found the problem—sea turtles had trapped themselves in a net! Using her orange as bait, she lured them free, and in gratitude, the sea turtles helped her clear the path to the secret spinach garden.
Soon, the mermaids were eating their magical ocean spinach and feeling strong again. Princess Marina pressed her palm against Lila's palm in friendship.
"Thank you for helping us," she said, giving Lila a pearl that glowed like a tiny moon.
Lila learned that day that true friendship means helping each other, no matter which world you come from. And every night, she dreams of swimming once more beneath the waves, where orange sunsets meet blue seas, and friendship connects everyone like an invisible cable woven with love.
