The Not-So-Spicy Zombie
Lily loved exploring the Whispering Woods, especially on days when sunbeams danced through the leaves like golden ribbons. Today she'd brought her backpack filled with grandma's special mushroom cookies and her lucky vitamin bottle shaped like a rainbow unicorn.
That's when she heard the saddest sound—like a bear with a tummy ache. Behind an ancient oak tree sat a creature. His skin was pale as moonlight, his clothes hung in tatters, and his eyes drooped like tired puppy ears.
"A zombie!" Lily gasped, then remembered. Grandma said zombies were just lonely hearts who forgot how to sparkle.
"I'm not scary," the creature whispered. "I'm just... empty."
Lily's new friend tilted his head like a curious puppy. "I'm Benny. I haven't smiled in so many seasons that my sparkle went poof!"
From behind a blackberry bush popped the fluffiest brown bear Lily had ever seen. His name was Bo, and he'd been following Benny's sad songs for days. Bo nudged Benny's hand with his warm nose, and Benny's tired eyes suddenly twinkled.
"You need magic vitamins!" Lily remembered her unicorn bottle. But when she opened it, all the colorful tablets had melted together into one magnificent rainbow vitamin. "Made from sunshine and grandmas' love," she explained.
Benny took the rainbow vitamin. CRUNCH! Sparkles burst from his fingertips. His pale skin turned rosy, his clothes mended themselves, and—most importantly—he smiled so bright that even Bo the Bear did a happy dance.
"Friendship is the best vitamin of all," Benny laughed, hugging Lily and Bo. "But I think Bo's bear hugs help too!"
That day, Lily learned that even the scariest-looking creatures just need a friend, a bear hug, and a little sparkle magic. The three of them became the Whimsical Woods' best adventure team, proving that kindness is the most powerful magic of all.
