The Night Lightning Played Baseball

Ten-year-old Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every evening, he'd practice hitting in his backyard, dreaming of becoming a star player. But there was one problem—Leo always struck out.

One stormy afternoon, Leo kept practicing despite the dark clouds gathering. SWISH! Another miss. He sat down, ready to give up. That's when something magical happened.

From the storm clouds emerged a magnificent bull made of shimmering silver lightening. His horns glowed like bright flashlights, and his hooves left sparkling trails wherever he walked.

"Why do you keep trying if you keep missing?" the Lightning Bull asked in a rumbling, kind voice.

"Because I love it," Leo whispered.

The bull smiled. "Then you're already winning. May I join you?"

Leo's eyes widened. "You want to play baseball?"

"I've watched you for weeks," the Lightning Bull said. "Running those bases in your dreams. But fear makes you swing too hard. Baseball isn't about power—it's about patience and joy."

The magical bull tossed a lightning bolt to Leo. It crackled softly, like popcorn popping. "Don't force it. Feel it."

Leo took a deep breath. He stopped thinking and started feeling. CRACK! The lightning ball sailed through the air, glowing golden as it flew farther than ever before.

"You did it!" cheered the Lightning Bull, his silver coat shining even brighter.

They played until the storm passed. The bull taught Leo that believing in yourself matters more than being perfect.

"Will you come back?" Leo asked as the clouds faded.

"Whenever you need courage," promised the Lightning Bull. "Just look for me during a storm. Remember—the real magic was inside you all along."

The next day at baseball practice, Leo hit three home runs. His coach was amazed, but Leo just smiled at the sky, knowing his secret friend was watching, somewhere beyond the clouds.

That night, Leo fell asleep dreaming of running bases with a bull made of lightning, grateful for the magical lesson: you're never alone when you follow your heart.
