The Mummy's Friendly Secret
Lily loved exploring her grandmother's attic. One sunny afternoon, she discovered something curious — an old iphone hidden inside a treasure chest. Unlike any phone she'd seen, this one glowed with rainbow colors when she touched it.
"Be careful with that," whispered a voice behind her. Lily spun around to see someone wrapped in bandages, shuffling slowly. A zombie!
She gasped and started running toward the attic door, but the figure called out, "Wait! I'm not scary! I'm just a mummy named Tut, and I've been sleeping for three thousand years!"
Lily stopped. The mummy sounded friendly, not frightening at all. "You're... a mummy? Like from Egypt?"
Tut nodded enthusiastically. "Yes! I was a royal spy for my pharaoh, protecting secrets in our great pyramid. But I took a very long nap, and now I need help waking up my friends. Will you be my friend?"
Lily's fear melted away. Being a spy sounded exciting! "I'll help! But how?"
"The magical iphone you found — it belonged to the pyramid's guardians. It can wake the other mummies if we solve three riddles together."
So Lily and Tut became an unlikely team. They solved riddles about stars, cats, and the Nile River. With each answer, the iphone glowed brighter. Finally, a beam of golden light shot through the attic ceiling, and suddenly, dozens of mummies appeared — all smiling and stretching.
"Thank you, Lily!" they cheered. "You saw past our bandages and helped us. That's the bravest thing a spy can do — look with your heart, not just your eyes."
Lily grinned. Sometimes the scariest-looking things turn out to be the most wonderful friends. And every afternoon after school, she returned to the attic for adventures with her mummy friends, who taught her that true friendship comes in all shapes, sizes, and yes — even bandages.
