The Moonlit Swimming Pool
Luna the rabbit loved to watch the other animals swim in Crystal Pool. The water sparkled like diamonds under the sun, and she longed to join them. But Luna was afraid. The pool looked so deep, so mysterious, so… wet!
Every evening, she sat by the edge watching frogs leap and fish glide. A wise old turtle named Oliver noticed her sad face.
“What troubles you, little one?” Oliver asked.
“I want to go swimming,” Luna whispered, “but I’m too scared. What if I sink?”
Oliver smiled. “Come back tonight at moonrise. I have something to show you.”
That night, Luna returned. The pool glowed with silver light. Oliver swam to the shore and offered her a bright green leaf.
“Eat this moon spinach,” he said. “It grows only by Crystal Pool, and it holds the magic of courage.”
Luna nibbled the spinach. It tasted like starlight and dreams, sweet and tingling. Suddenly, she felt brave! Her paws tingled with magic.
“Now try,” Oliver said.
Luna stepped into the pool. The water welcomed her like a warm hug. To her surprise, she didn’t sink at all! With each stroke, she became more confident. She swam deeper and deeper, discovering a whole underwater world of color and wonder. Fish greeted her like old friends.
“You did it!” Oliver cheered when she surfaced.
Luna realized something wonderful: the magic wasn’t just in the spinach. It was inside her all along. Sometimes, we all need a little courage – whether from a friend’s kindness or a leaf of moon spinach – to discover what we can truly do.
From that night on, Luna swam every day. And sometimes, on especially brave nights, she shared the magic with other scared little animals, helping them find their own courage too.
