The Moonlit Pool Friends

Luna was a small orange cat who lived near an old forest. Every night, she watched the moon reflect in the hidden pool behind her house. The pool was special — Grandmother said it showed true friends in its moonlit waters.

One summer evening, Luna crept to the pool's edge. Silver light danced on the water like tiny stars. Suddenly, a sleek red fox appeared.

"Hello, little friend," said the fox softly. "I'm Felix. I come here every night to make wishes."

Luna's tail twitched nervously. Cats and foxes weren't supposed to be friends. But something about Felix's gentle amber eyes made her feel safe.

"What do you wish for?" Luna asked, surprised at her own bravery.

Felix sighed. "I wish I wasn't so lonely. Everyone thinks foxes are tricky, but I just want someone to share adventures with."

Luna's heart melted. "I'm lonely too. Other cats say I'm too small and dreamy."

Suddenly, deep rumbling shook the ground. A massive bull emerged from the forest shadows. His horns looked sharp enough to pierce the moon itself.

Luna and Felix pressed close together, trembling.

But the bull stopped at the pool's edge. He lowered his huge head sadly. "Even you two are scared of me," he mumbled.

Luna noticed something strange. The bull wasn't scary — he was crying.

"I'm Barnaby," the bull sniffled. "Everyone runs away because I'm big and clumsy. I just want to watch the moon too."

Felix stepped forward. "We're not scared. We're lonely too."

Luna gasped as she looked into the moonlit pool. The water showed three reflections — but they weren't cat, fox, and bull anymore. They were three glowing circles of light, all the same size.

"Look!" Luna cried. "The pool shows us as we really are inside — all friends, just the same."

Barnaby's eyes widened. "Really?"

"Really," said Felix. "Want to share our moonlit adventures?"

From that night on, the three friends met by the magical pool. Luna learned that big hearts come in all sizes. Felix found that foxes can be trusted. And Barnaby discovered that being different made him special, not scary.

The pool still shows true friends in its silver waters. And if you look closely on moonlit nights, you might see three circles of light dancing together — one small, one quick, one strong, all perfectly equal in friendship's glowing light.
