The Moon Spy and the Star-Bull

Mira's curly purple hair bounced as she tiptoed through her grandmother's garden at midnight. She was on a secret mission—a very important one. Mira called herself a moon spy, collecting magical secrets that only appeared when the stars twinkled overhead.

Tonight, something extraordinary was happening. The ordinary spinach patch was glowing with soft silver light. Mira had been running through the garden for weeks, watching the plants grow, but she had never seen anything like this. Each spinach leaf sparkled like a tiny moonbeam.

"Grandma!" she whispered, but her grandmother was fast asleep. So Mira decided to investigate herself.

She followed the glowing trail of spinach past the tomato plants and around the cornfield. Suddenly, she heard a gentle snort. There, standing in the moonlight, was the most magnificent bull she had ever seen. His coat was studded with what looked like actual stars, and his horns gleamed like polished silver.

"Hello, little spy," the bull said kindly. "I've been waiting for you."

Mira's hair stood on end with surprise. "You can talk?"

"I'm Barnaby, guardian of the magical garden," the bull explained. "Every hundred years, someone with a pure heart discovers the secret spinach. That person becomes the next keeper of garden magic."

He lowered his great head. "Eat one leaf, and you'll understand what all the creatures are saying. But remember—magic is meant to be shared, not kept secret forever."

Mira carefully picked a glowing spinach leaf. It tasted like moonlight and dreams. Suddenly, she could hear the crickets singing lullabies and the flowers stretching their petals.

"Thank you, Barnaby!" she hugged his starry nose. "I'll be the best garden spy ever."

And she was. Every night, Mira visited her magical friends, always remembering Barnaby's lesson: the best secrets are the ones that help others grow.
