The Moon Pool Adventure
Leo discovered the brass cable behind his grandmother's bookshelf. It hummed with a soft, golden glow. When he tugged gently, the entire bookshelf swung open like a door, revealing a tiny cable car made of silver moonlight.
"Mia! You have to see this!" Leo called.
His best friend came running, her eyes wide. The cable car sparkled like it was made of captured stars.
"Where does it go?" Mia whispered.
"Only one way to find out."
They climbed inside, and the cable car whisked them up, up, UP—through the ceiling, past the clouds, higher than Leo's kite had ever flown. The world below became a patchwork quilt of lights and shadows.
The cable car stopped at the Moon Pool—a pool of liquid starlight perched on a floating island of clouds. The water shimmered with every color Leo had ever seen, plus some he hadn't.
But something was wrong. A small, sad cloud floated above the pool, leaking tiny gray droplets that turned the sparkling water dull.
"The Moon Pool needs dream vitamins," Mia said, as if she'd always known. "Otherwise, it stops shining."
Leo remembered the colorful candies in his pocket—his grandmother's special "star vitamins" that she said gave you sweet dreams. He poured them into the pool. Each vitamin burst into light—red for courage, blue for peace, yellow for joy, green for friendship.
The pool began to glow again, brighter and brighter. The sad cloud cheered up, turning pink and fluffy. Small starfish made of light surfaced, winking at them.
"Thank you," the cloud whispered. "You've saved the Moon Pool. Now children everywhere will have sweet dreams tonight."
The cable car took them home, tucking them back into Leo's room just as his grandmother called them for dinner. Leo and Mia exchanged secret smiles. Some adventures were too wonderful to tell—but they knew every time they looked at the moon, they'd remember the pool of starlight and the magic of sharing what you have to help others.
That night, Leo dreamed he was swimming among stars, and Mia dreamed she was floating on a cloud. Both dreamed of friendship and the cable car that took them to the place where wishes came true.
