The Midnight Pyramid Mystery

Lily's goldfish, Finny, was no ordinary fish. Every night at midnight, he would glow with a soft golden light and swim in tiny circles, as if trying to tell her something special.

One Tuesday night, Lily couldn't sleep. She crept downstairs to find her fluffy orange cat, Mittens, sitting by the back door, meowing at something magical in the yard. Outside, under the moonlight, stood a shimmering pyramid made entirely of baseball cards!

"How did this get here?" Lily whispered. Finny's fishbowl began to glow brighter than ever.

Suddenly, the pyramid's cards started fluttering like butterfly wings. A friendly zombie popped out—but not a scary one! This zombie wore a colorful baseball cap and held a worn-out baseball glove. He was made entirely of soft green mist and smelled like fresh-mown grass.

"I'm Zed!" the zombie said with a grin. "And I need your help. Every Halloween night, I come to life, but only for one hour. I need to hit the perfect home run before sunrise, or I'll fade away until next year!"

Lily's eyes widened with excitement. "I can help! I've been playing baseball since I was five!"

But there was a problem: Mittens kept chasing after the magical baseball, and Finny was swimming frantically in his bowl. Lily realized something important—her friends wanted to help too!

"Mittens, you can be our outfielder!" Lily declared. "And Finny... Finny can be our lucky charm!"

With Finny's golden light guiding them, Mittens leaping for catches, and Lily pitching her best throws, Zed swung the bat with all his might. CRACK! The baseball sailed through the night sky, trailing sparkles like a shooting star.

"HOME RUN!" Zed cheered, his green body glowing with happiness. "You all showed me that the best magic is friendship!"

As the first light of dawn appeared, Zed faded away, but not before leaving behind something special: a tiny golden baseball that shimmered like Finny's scales.

Lily smiled, hugging Mittens and watching Finny swim peacefully. She learned that magic lives everywhere—in fishbowls, in friendship, and even in the most unexpected places. The best adventures are the ones we share with those we love.
