The Midnight Pyramid Mystery
Lily and Sam loved playing **spy** games in their backyard. Every Saturday night, they'd sneak out with flashlights, whispering secret codes and hunting for hidden treasures. But they never expected to find a real mystery.
It started when Sam threw his favorite **baseball** a little too hard. The ball sailed over the fence and landed with a strange *clink* sound in old Mrs. Greenberry's garden.
"I'll get it," Lily whispered, already **running** toward the fence. She spotted something glowing where the ball had fallen.
They crept next door, following the soft blue light until they reached Mrs. Greenberry's overgrown vegetable patch. There, nestled between giant pumpkins, stood a miniature pyramid made of crystals, no bigger than a lunchbox.
"It's beautiful," Lily breathed.
Suddenly, the ground rumbled. Three dusty figures rose from the earth—the legendary garden **zombie** protectors! But these weren't scary monsters. They were ancient guardians with tangled roots for hair and flowers blooming from their shoulders like button corsages.
"We've been sleeping for one hundred years," said the first guardian, his voice like rustling leaves. "Thank you for waking us."
The zombies explained they guarded the Crystal Pyramid, which kept all neighborhood gardens magical. But they'd fallen asleep because no children had played outside in years—everyone was too busy with screens.
"We play outside ALL the time," Sam said.
The guardians smiled, shaking pollen like glittery snow. "Then you are the new protectors." They placed a crystal baseball in Sam's palm—a magical token that would glow whenever a garden needed help.
That night, Lily and Sam learned that the best adventures aren't on screens. They're right outside, waiting for curious kids to find them.
And every Saturday, you can still find them in Mrs. Greenberry's garden, playing the most important spy game of all: protecting the magic that makes things grow.
