The Midnight Pool Pyramid
Lily's curly hair bounced as she tiptoed through her backyard at midnight. The full moon made the swimming pool sparkle like diamonds. Something strange was happening tonight.
Splash! A ripple moved across the water, forming a perfect triangle. Then another. And another. Before Lily's wide eyes, a glowing blue pyramid rose from the pool, dripping with starlight.
"Are you a spy?" a tiny voice squeaked.
Lily spun around. A thumb-sized girl with wings like a dragonfly hovered near her ear. The fairy's purple hair was streaked with silver.
"I'm Lily," she whispered. "And you're the spy, sneaking up on me!"
"I'm Pip," the fairy giggled. "I've been watching you. You have the kindest heart. That's why the magic pool chose you."
Pip flew to the pyramid. It was a portal to the Land of Forgotten Dreams, where children's lost hopes and wishes floated like bubbles.
"Your turn," Pip said. "Touch the pyramid and become a dream spy. Find what children have lost and bring it back."
Lily's fingers grazed the glowing blue surface. Whoosh! She shrank until she fit inside the pyramid. Inside, golden dreams swirled around her—a lost teddy bear, a forgotten friendship, a broken promise.
She gathered them gently, her hair now glowing with rainbow light. When she returned to normal size, the dreams floated up into the night sky, becoming falling stars for children to wish upon.
"Thank you, Dream Spy," Pip said, handing her a crystal star. "Whenever you need magic, just dip this in any pool."
The pyramid sank back into the water with a soft splash. Lily curled up in bed, the crystal star on her nightstand. Somewhere, a child was making a wish on one of the dreams she'd saved.
That night, Lily learned that the best kind of magic isn't just about adventures—it's about kindness, and how even one person can help dreams come true.
