The Midnight Pool of Stars
Leo loved the old pool behind his house, especially at midnight. That's when magic happened.
One warm summer night, Leo was running through the garden, chasing fireflies. He stopped at the pool's edge and gasped. The water wasn't reflecting the moon — it was reflecting STARS! Not just any stars, but a whole galaxy swirling right there in the water.
Then something amazing happened. The stars began to ripple, and up from the glowing water rose the most beautiful creature Leo had ever seen — a great golden bull made entirely of stardust!
"Hello, Leo," the bull spoke with a voice like twinkling bells. "I've been waiting for someone who believes in magic."
Leo's eyes widened. "You can talk?"
"In the realm of dreams, anything can talk," the bull winked. "Would you like to go swimming among the stars?"
"But I'm just a kid," Leo said. "And I'm not even very good at swimming."
The bull laughed gently. "In my pool, you don't swim with your body — you swim with your imagination!"
Leo took a deep breath and stepped into the shimmering water. Suddenly, he wasn't in a pool anymore — he was floating through space! Stars danced around him like tiny fireflies. The golden bull swam beside him, and Leo realized he was gliding too, weightless and free.
"Where are we going?" Leo asked.
"We're on a secret mission," the bull whispered. "We're going to spy on the Dream Keepers — they're the ones who make sure every child has wonderful dreams."
They swam past clouds of cotton candy and islands made of chocolate. Far ahead, Leo saw tiny glowing creatures painting dreams onto little glass jars.
"Those are the Dream Keepers," the bull explained. "Each dream is special, just for one child."
Leo noticed one Dream Keeper looked sad. "What's wrong?" Leo asked.
"Some children don't believe in magic anymore," the Dream Keeper sighed. "Then my dreams fade away."
Leo felt a spark of determination. "I'll help! I'll tell everyone about the magic in the world!"
The bull smiled. "And that, Leo, is the greatest adventure of all — sharing magic with others."
When Leo woke up in his bed the next morning, he found a small golden star beside his pillow. Now, every night, he whispers stories of magic to anyone who will listen, and somewhere far away, the golden bull smiles, knowing that the real magic was inside Leo all along.
