The Midnight Garden Spy

bullrunningspinachzombiespy

Lily loved her garden more than anything in the world. Every evening after school, she would water her tomatoes, sing to her roses, and gently pat the soil around her prize-winning **spinach** plants. But tonight felt different. The moon was extra bright, casting silver shadows across the vegetables, and Lily heard something strange—a deep, gentle snoring coming from behind the old oak tree.

She tiptoed closer in her bare feet, **running** as silently as a cat. What she found made her gasp. There, sleeping peacefully among the pumpkins, was the most magnificent creature she had ever seen. A tiny **bull** with shimmering golden fur and emerald-green horns was curled up like a puppy, dreaming contentedly.

Suddenly, a rustling sound came from the bushes. Lily ducked behind a sunflower, suddenly feeling like a real **spy** on an important mission. Peeking through the leaves, she saw her grumpy neighbor Mr. Thompson stumble into the garden, looking confused. His clothes were on backward and his glasses sat crooked on his nose—he had been **sleepwalking** again! The old lady next door called him a "**zombie**" when he walked in his sleep, but Lily knew better. Mr. Thompson was just a lonely man who sometimes wandered at night.

The little bull woke up and gave a friendly moo. Mr. Thompson jumped, then smiled sleepily. "Is that a... dream?" he asked.

Lily stepped out from her hiding spot. "His name is Buttercup," she said bravely. "He's magical, and he needs a friend. Just like you."

From that night on, Mr. Thompson stopped sleepwalking. Instead, he visited Lily's garden every evening, bringing fresh hay for Buttercup and stories about his childhood farm. Lily learned that sometimes the scariest things are just the most lonely ones, and the best adventures are the ones you share with unexpected friends. The magical bull, the former sleepwalker, and the young gardener formed the most unusual friendship the neighborhood had ever seen—all because one brave girl stayed curious instead of running away.
