The Midnight Garden Secret

catorangebullzombie

Leo's orange cat, Mango, was not like other cats. While other cats slept, Mango sat by the window watching the moon. One Tuesday night, Mango meowed so insistently that Leo tiptoed outside in his pajamas.

The cat led Leo to Farmer McGregor's field, where a massive bull stood guard. Leo gasped—he'd heard stories about this bull chasing away trespassers. But Mango simply rubbed against the bull's legs, and the gentle giant lowered his head for pets.

"He's not scary at all," Leo whispered, scratching the bull's velvety nose.

The bull nodded toward a patch of garden behind the barn. As Leo watched, something impossible happened. The wilted sunflowers, the drooping tomato plants, the brown pumpkin vines—they all began to stir. Not like scary movie monsters, but like flowers waking up from a long nap.

The zombie garden!

Grandma had told Leo stories about plants that died when winter came but rose again in spring. These plants slept through the sun and moon like tiny zombies, only truly alive at midnight when no one could see them dance.

A sunflower stretched toward Leo, offering him a perfect orange blossom. Mango pounced playfully at dancing leaves while the bull kept watch, making sure no one disturbed the magical celebration.

Leo realized something important: scary things aren't always what they seem. The bull was a protector, not a monster. The zombie garden wasn't creepy—it was wonderful. And sometimes, the best adventures happen when you follow a curious cat into the moonlight.

Every midnight after that, Leo and Mango returned to dance with the zombie flowers under the bull's watchful eye, their secret garden alive with magic and friendship.
