The Midnight Garden Parade
Luna was a black cat with moon-white paws and a very big secret. Every night when the house grew quiet, she would sneak out to the garden. Tonight, something magical was happening.
She found Felix the fox sitting by the old oak tree, his orange fur glowing in the starlight. Felix wasn't an ordinary fox—he could speak, and he wore a tiny silver bell around his neck that chimed like fairy laughter.
"You're late!" Felix whispered, his tail swishing with excitement. "The parade is about to begin!"
Luna's ears perked up. A parade? In the garden?
Suddenly, the flowers began to tremble. Up from the dirt popped something extraordinary—a zombie sunflower! Its yellow petals were slightly wilted, and it swayed wobbly on its stem, but it was dancing. Then came another, and another. Soon, a whole crowd of zombie flowers was twirling and spinning in the moonlight.
"Don't worry," Felix giggled as Luna's fur stood up. "They're the friendliest zombies you'll ever meet. They only come alive during the full moon to dance!"
The zombie flowers invited Luna and Felix to join them. Luna found herself running through the garden, chasing fireflies and jumping over dancing pumpkins. She had never felt so alive, so free.
"Being different is wonderful," Felix said as they spun under the stars. "The zombie flowers might look strange during the day, but at night, they create the most beautiful magic."
As dawn approached, the zombie flowers settled back into the earth, their petals lifting toward the coming sun. Luna knew she would return tomorrow night.
"Friend," Felix nudged her gently as he slipped away into the forest, "remember that magic lives in unexpected places."
Luna crept back into her bed just as the first light touched the windowsill. She curled up, purring, knowing that the world was full of wonders waiting to be discovered by anyone brave enough to look beneath the surface—and that true friends come in all shapes, sizes, and states of being undead.
