The Midnight Garden Game
Luna's dog, Barnaby, spotted something strange near the garden shed. A fluffy orange cat sat beside a giant bear, and they were... playing padel?
"That's Max the cat," whispered Luna, peeking through her window. "And that's Bruno the bear from the forest!"
But Bruno looked different—his fur was matted, his eyes were sleepy, and he moved slowly, like a zombie.
"He's not a zombie!" Luna's mom said the next morning. "Bruno hasn't slept for days because his little cub was lost. He's just exhausted."
That night, Luna tiptoed outside with her dad's padel racquet. "Play with us, Bruno!" she called. The bear perked up. Max the cat meowed excitedly. Barnaby jumped around, barking happily.
They played the most magical game ever. When Luna hit the ball, it glowed like a firefly. Bruno's slow movements became graceful swings. Max chased every ball, while Barnaby cheered from the sidelines.
"You're not zombie-tired anymore," Luna said.
Bruno smiled. "Playing with friends helps."
The next morning, Bruno bounded back into the forest, rested and ready. Luna spotted him later, proudly carrying his cub on his shoulders.
Sometimes the best adventures happen when you least expect them—even in your own garden at midnight, especially when you make new friends and help them feel better.
Luna never knew that a dog, a cat, a bear, a padel racquet, and one exhausted bear could become the best of friends. But magic works in mysterious ways.
