The Midnight Fox Club

Lily loved her garden at midnight. That's when the magic happened.

One summer evening, she crept outside in her fuzzy **spy** disguise — black pajamas and a cardboard mask. Tonight, she had a secret mission.

Something glowed behind the old oak tree. Lily tiptoed closer. A rusty metal **cable** stretched from her treehouse all the way to the moon! It pulsed with silver light, humming a sleepy tune.

"Who's there?" whispered a voice.

Lily jumped. A fluffy orange **fox** with emerald eyes stepped out from the ferns. But not a normal fox — this one wore a tiny golden crown!

"I'm Finn," said the fox. "Guardian of the Moon Cable. Are you friend or foe?"

"Friend!" Lily said. "I'm Lily. What's the Moon Cable do?"

"It delivers sweet dreams to children," Finn explained proudly. "But tonight, the dream machine broke!" His ears drooped. "No one will have happy dreams."

Lily's brother Max had been grumpy all week because of bad dreams. This was serious!

"What can we do?" she asked.

Finn led her through a hidden tunnel beneath the roots. They emerged in a magical workshop full of sparkling gears and floating feathers.

"The dream machine needs a special game," Finn said. "Something joyful. Do you know **padel**?"

Lily gasped. "That's my favorite game! Me and my sister play it every weekend!"

She taught Finn and three starry-eyed bunny rabbits how to play. They used a golden racquet and a ball made of moonlight. *THWACK!* The ball sailed through purple clouds. *SWOOSH!* They laughed and danced, their joy bubbling up like fizzy lemonade.

The dream machine began to whir and sparkle, absorbing their happiness into glowing crystals.

Suddenly, a lumpy green figure shuffled from the shadows. It had stitches and one crooked eye.

"A **zombie**!" the bunnies squeaked.

But the zombie just looked sad. "I'm Zippy," he mumbled. "I was made from lost toys. I just want to play too."

Lily's heart melted. "Of course you can play, Zippy! Everyone deserves joy."

Zippy's stitched smile widened. He hit the moonball with his bouncy green hand — *BOING!* — and it bounced off twelve stars in a row!

Everyone cheered. The dream machine glowed so bright it painted the sky rainbows.

Finn bowed. "Lily, you saved sweet dreams for children everywhere."

"We all did," she said, hugging her new friends. "Even Zippy."

That night, Lily fell asleep with a smile. In her dream, she played padel on the moon with a fox, bunnies, and a zombie who could fly.

And every night after, when the moon cable hummed its silver song, Lily knew: magic is real, friendship is powerful, and everyone belongs — even zombies made from lost toys.
