The Midnight Baseball Game

Max was a small golden **dog** with a big dream. Every night, while his family slept, he practiced his favorite sport in the backyard. With a piece of rope as his bat and a tennis ball as his prize, Max played **baseball** under the moonlight. He imagined himself hitting home runs in front of thousands of cheering fans.

One stormy evening, as thunder rumbled in the distance, Max heard a rustling in the bushes. A massive **bear** emerged, her brown coat glistening with raindrops. Max's tail tucked between his legs, but the bear didn't look scary. She looked sad.

"I've lost my cub," the bear rumbled softly. "The storm frightened him, and he ran into the woods."

Max's fear vanished. He remembered how his little sister felt scared during storms too. "I can help!" Max barked bravely. "Follow me!"

As they searched the dark forest, a flash of **lightning** split the sky, illuminating something small and trembling behind an old oak tree. It was the bear cub!

The mother bear thanked Max with a gentle nudge. From that night on, something magical happened. The bear family returned to Max's backyard, and the cub — now named Bumper — became Max's first baseball teammate. Though bears can't hold bats, Bumper was excellent at catching flying balls in his mouth.

Max learned that courage isn't about being big or strong. It's about being brave enough to help others, even when you're small. And sometimes, the best friends come from the most unexpected places.

Every full moon, if you listen carefully, you might hear the sound of a dog's happy bark and a bear's playful roar echoing through the night — the sound of friends playing their favorite game under the stars.
