The Midnight Baseball Bull
Emma loved to play spy. Every night, she'd sneak to her window with her toy binoculars, watching the world sleep. One summer evening, she spotted something magical in the field behind her house.
Under the moonlight, Old Bull—the grumpy bull Farmer Brown said would never chase anything—was prancing happily. But that wasn't the strangest part. A baseball glove appeared on his hoof, and he began tossing a perfect baseball into the air, catching it with a graceful *pop*.
Emma's eyes widened. She tiptoed outside, her spy mission forgotten. The bull noticed her but didn't run away. Instead, he tossed the baseball to her!
"You want to play?" Emma whispered. The bull nodded his massive head.
For hours, they played catch under the stars. The bull threw perfect pitches. Emma hit her best homers ever. They laughed until their sides hurt.
"Why don't you play baseball during the day?" Emma asked.
The bull looked sad. He explained that Farmer Brown thought bulls were too big and clumsy for sports. Emma knew how that felt—kids said she was too small for baseball too.
"Tomorrow," Emma promised, "we'll show everyone what bulls can really do."
The next day, Emma convinced Farmer Brown to watch. At first skeptical, the farmer's jaw dropped when Old Bull hit a home run clear across the field! Soon, the whole town came to watch the amazing baseball bull play.
Emma learned something wonderful that summer: sometimes the best discoveries happen when you're curious enough to look closer, and everyone deserves a chance to shine—even a bull who loves baseball.
And every night, the little spy and her bull friend still played their magical midnight baseball game under the stars, their secret friendship stronger than any home run.
