The Magical Zombie Friend

Lily loved exploring the forest behind her house. One sunny afternoon, she discovered a secret path she'd never seen before. Curious, she followed it deep into the woods until she found a beautiful clearing filled with sparkling flowers.

Suddenly, she heard a sad moaning sound. Hidden behind an old oak tree sat a strange creature with messy green hair, pale blue skin, and the kindest eyes Lily had ever seen. It looked like a zombie from her storybooks, but not scary at all—just lonely and tired.

"Hello," Lily whispered bravely. "What's your name?"

The creature looked up surprised. "I'm Zimby," they said slowly. "I'm a magical zombie, but I've forgotten how to be magical. I've been sitting here so long that my hair got all tangled, and I feel very weak."

Lily noticed Zimby's lips were dry and their movements were slow. "You need help!" she exclaimed. "My mom says water and vitamins make us strong again."

She pulled a water bottle from her backpack and handed it to Zimby, who drank it gratefully. Then Lily found a bright orange flower nearby—its petals looked just like little vitamin tablets. Zimby ate them carefully.

Something magical happened. Zimby's blue skin began to glow softly. Their green hair floated upward like soft seaweed in water. They stood up and twirled around, leaving sparkles in the air.

"Thank you, Lily!" Zimby cheered. "You're my best friend!"

Zimby showed Lily their magic—they could make flowers bloom instantly and turn leaves into butterflies! They played until sunset, when Lily had to go home.

"Come back tomorrow?" Zimby asked hopefully.

"Every day!" Lily promised.

That night, Lily learned that sometimes things that seem scary are just lonely and need a friend. And Zimby learned that kindness is the most powerful magic of all.
