The Magical Pool Pyramid

Lily loved swimming in her backyard pool more than anything. Every evening, she'd watch the sun turn the water into sparkling liquid gold.

One full-moon night, Lily noticed something strange. The pool water glowed with an electric blue light, and right at the bottom sat a golden pyramid she'd never seen before. It pulsed with magical energy.

Suddenly, the pyramid's tip flashed, and a figure rose from the water. It looked like a zombie—green skin, tangled hair, slow shambling walk—but this zombie wore a shiny golden crown and carried a sparkly wand.

"Greetings," said the zombie in a gentle, musical voice. "I am Zozo, Guardian of the Dream Pyramid. I've waited many years for someone kind enough to see me."

Lily wasn't scared. Zozo's twinkling eyes reminded her of her grandpa's eyes when he told stories. "Why are you in my pool?" she asked.

"This pyramid collects lost dreams from children who've forgotten how to imagine," Zozo explained. "I protect it, but I'm lonely. No one stays to talk—they all run away."

Lily's heart squeezed. "I'll stay. I love stories!"

Every night that summer, Lily and Zozo became best friends. He showed her how the pyramid captured dreams—sparkling lights that danced like fireflies. Lily shared her dream of becoming an astronaut, and the pyramid glowed brighter than ever.

"The strongest dreams are shared with friends," Zozo told her.

When summer ended, the pyramid slowly sank back into the depths. Zozo handed Lily a tiny golden pyramid charm. "You'll always carry the magic of friendship. Remember: the scariest things often just need someone brave enough to say hello."

Lily never forgot Zozo or the lesson he taught her. Sometimes the most wonderful friendships come from the most unexpected places—and real magic isn't about spells, but about opening your heart to those who need it most.
