The Magical Orange Garden
Lily loved baseball more than anything. Every afternoon, she'd grab her glove and run to the park, dreaming of hitting a home run. But there was one problem—she always struck out.
One day, while chasing a ball that flew over the fence, Lily discovered something amazing. Behind Mrs. Green's house grew a garden unlike anything she'd ever seen. The plants weren't green at all—they were bright orange!
"Oh my!" Lily whispered. She spotted a stranger vegetable growing near the fence. It looked like spinach, but each leaf shimmered like a tiny sunset.
Mrs. Green appeared with a warm smile. "You found my magical orange spinach, dear. Would you like to try some?"
Lily's eyes widened. "Is it magic?"
"Indeed it is," the old woman said. "This spinach gives you exactly what you need—courage, confidence, and the power to believe in yourself."
Lily took a bite. It tasted like sunshine and adventure. Suddenly, she noticed something wonderful. Her brown hair began to shimmer with orange streaks, glowing as bright as a summer day!
At her baseball game that afternoon, something changed. Lily stepped up to the plate, feeling confident and brave. The pitcher threw the ball—whizzing through the air. Lily swung with all her might.
CRACK!
The ball soared higher and higher, over the fence, into the blue sky. A home run! Her teammates cheered, jumping up and down.
But the real magic wasn't the home run or the glowing orange streaks in her hair. The real magic was the belief inside Lily all along. Mrs. Green's special spinach had simply helped her discover it.
From that day on, Lily never lacked confidence. She visited Mrs. Green's garden often, learning that the greatest magic comes from believing in yourself.
