The Magical Green Ball
Leo wrinkled his nose at the green pile on his dinner plate.
"I don't want spinach," he grumbled, pushing it away with his fork.
Suddenly, his orange tabby cat Mitten jumped onto the table and whispered, "But Leo, this isn't ordinary spinach! It's magical!"
Leo gasped. "You can talk?"
"Only when magic is near," Mitten purred, nudging a spinach leaf toward him. "Try one bite. You'll see."
Leo took a tiny nibble. Then his eyes widened. The spinach tasted like sunshine and rainbows!
"Wow!" Leo cried. A warm, glowing feeling spread through his body. "It's like a super vitamin!"
"Exactly!" Mitten meowed. "Now grab your baseball glove. We have an adventure waiting!"
In the backyard, the old baseball diamond began to sparkle. Leo's baseball glowed with emerald light.
"Throw it!" Mitten called.
Leo tossed the ball, and something magical happened. The spinach's power made him throw it higher, faster, and farther than ever before! The ball soared into the clouds and didn't come down.
"We have to get it back!" Leo said.
Mitten's fur shimmered. "Hold my paw, Leo. Together we can fly!"
Hand in paw, boy and cat floated upward, past birds and butterflies, all the way to a castle made of crystal clouds. There, a cloud giant was playing catch with Leo's magical baseball!
"Please, Mr. Giant," Leo called bravely. "That's my ball. But you can play with us if you want!"
The giant smiled. "A friend who shares is a treasure indeed."
For hours, they played the most wonderful baseball game in the sky. Leo learned that sharing makes everything more fun—even with someone very different from yourself.
When Leo floated back to his bedroom, Mitten curled up beside him. The baseball sat on his nightstand, still glowing softly.
"Thank you, Mitten," Leo whispered, already planning tomorrow's adventure. "And thank you, spinach."
From that day on, Leo never complained about eating his vegetables. Because you never know what magic might be hiding on your plate!
