The Magical Goldfish's Secret

Lily was bored. It was another hot summer day, and she stared at the empty swimming pool in her backyard. Her dad had promised to fill it with water tomorrow, but today it was just a big blue bowl waiting for fun.

Inside the house, her pet goldfish Orangey swam in circles in his small bowl. Lily had named him Orangey because he was the most orange goldfish she'd ever seen, with shiny scales that sparkled like tiny stars.

"I wish you could swim in a big pool," Lily whispered to Orangey. "You must be so lonely in there."

Orangey stopped swimming and floated right up to the glass. He looked at Lily with his big fish eyes, and something magical happened. He BUBBLED!

Not just a normal bubble. This was a glowing purple bubble that floated out of his bowl, through the air, and popped right on Lily's nose!

"What was that?" Lily gasped.

Suddenly, Orangey began to GLOW. His orange scales turned rainbow colored, and he spoke in the tiniest, squeakiest voice: "Thank you for wishing me happy, Lily! I am actually a MAGIC goldfish!"

Lily's eyes grew wide. "Magic? Really?"

"Yes!" Orangey squeaked. "For one hundred years, I've been waiting for a child to truly wish for my happiness. Now I can grant you one magical gift!"

Orangey swished his tail and produced a tiny glowing orange pill. "This is a VITAMIN of Wonder! It will give you the ability to understand fish language!"

Lily was amazed. She took the vitamin and swallowed it. Immediately, she could hear Orangey's thoughts clearly.

"Now," said Orangey, "grab my bowl and bring me to the pool!"

Lily carefully carried Orangey to the empty pool and placed him in the center. Orangey's rainbow glow grew brighter and brighter until WHOOSH — water magically filled the entire pool!

"Jump in!" Orangey called.

Lily jumped into the cool, magical water. But the most amazing thing happened — she could BREATHE underwater! And there, swimming beside her, was Orangey, now bigger than ever, with beautiful golden fins.

They played for hours, exploring the magical underwater world Orangey had created. Lily learned that the most important vitamin isn't one you swallow — it's the vitamin of kindness, that makes ordinary moments extraordinary.

From that day on, Lily knew that magic was real, and it lived in the wishes we make for others, not just for ourselves.
