The Magical Garden Game

Lily loved her grandmother's garden more than anything in the world. It wasn't just any garden – it was where magic happened. The vegetables grew bigger and brighter than anywhere else, especially the emerald-green spinach that seemed to shimmer in the sunlight.

One afternoon, Lily was practicing her padel shots against the old garden wall. She loved how the ball made a satisfying *thwack* when she hit it just right. But today, something extraordinary happened. When her padel ball sailed over the wall and into the forbidden forest beyond, she heard the most unusual sound.

"Grooooooan..."

Lily's heart raced. Her grandmother had warned her about the forest – about the lonely creature who lived there, the one everyone called the zombie. But when a sad face peeked around the wall, Lily didn't see a monster. She saw someone who looked very, very hungry.

"I'm so hungry," the creature said sadly. "I haven't had anything fresh to eat in forever. Everything in the forest is brown and wilted."

Lily looked at the creature's sad eyes and had an idea. She rushed to the spinach patch and gathered the biggest, freshest leaves. Then she invited her new friend to come around the wall.

"Try this," she said, handing him the magical spinach.

The creature took a bite and his eyes lit up. "It's wonderful!" he exclaimed. As he ate, something amazing happened. His grayish skin turned rosy and healthy. His tired eyes sparkled. He wasn't a zombie anymore – he was just a regular boy named Milo who had been lost in the forest for so long that he'd forgotten what real food tasted like.

Grandmother appeared, smiling. "The garden's magic works best when shared," she said.

That afternoon, Lily and Milo played padel together, laughing as the ball bounced back and forth. Milo's strength returned with every bite of spinach, and Lily discovered something important: sometimes, the things we're afraid of are just friends we haven't met yet.

And from that day on, the spinach grew twice as big – because friendship, Lily learned, is the most powerful magic of all.
