The Magical Garden Game

padelzombiespinach

Lily loved playing padel with her father at the park. Every Saturday, they'd hit the bright yellow ball back and forth, laughing when it bounced too high or when they both missed at the same time.

But this Saturday was different. While chasing a ball near the old abandoned garden, Lily heard a strange sound. "Groooaan..."

She froze. From behind the overgrown vines emerged something green and shambling. A zombie!

Lily's heart pounded. The zombie slowly approached, dragging one foot, its skin looking oddly... leafy?

"Wait," Lily whispered, noticing something. "You're not scary at all!"

The zombie stopped. "I'm not scary?"

"You're made of spinach!" Lily laughed. "Big spinach leaves wrapped around old garden clothes!"

The spinach zombie sagged with relief. "Oh, thank goodness. I'm actually Mr. Green, the garden keeper. I've been away for months, and the vines grew wild. I was trying to find my padel racket — I saw you playing, and I wanted to join. But I tripped and got all tangled up in the spinach patch."

Lily giggled and helped pull the spinach leaves off him. Underneath was a kind old man with twinkling eyes.

"I've something to show you," Mr. Green said, leading her through the garden gates. Inside, everything glowed. Golden flowers, singing roses, and the most amazing padel court Lily had ever seen — the net was made of moonbeams!

"The magic spinach patch feeds this whole garden," Mr. Green explained. "Want to play?"

They played padel all afternoon, the ball leaving trails of sparkles. When it was time to leave, Mr. Green pressed a fresh spinach leaf into Lily's hand.

"Whenever you need magic," he winked, "just remember: sometimes the scariest things are just misunderstood, and friendship can grow anywhere — even in a spinach patch."

Lily ran home, clutching her magical leaf, already planning next Saturday's game.
