The Magical Game Among Stars

Lily lay on her backyard trampoline, staring up at the sparkling night sky. Her grandpa had taught her about the Great Bear constellation—the one that looked like a giant bear climbing through the stars. Tonight, the bear seemed especially bright.

"What are you doing up so late?" whispered a deep, friendly voice.

Lily sat up. A giant bear made of golden starlight stood beside her trampoline! He had twinkling eyes and fur that shimmered like moonlight on water.

"I'm practicing padel," Lily explained, holding up her favorite racquet. "But the ball keeps rolling away."

The Star Bear laughed—a sound like wind chimes. "The bull across the yard loves games! Let's ask him."

Sure enough, a magnificent bull with horns shaped like crescent moons trotted over. His coat was the color of sunset clouds, and his breath smelled like cotton candy.

"I'll play!" The Bull bounced on his hooves excitedly. "But I'm a bit tired from galloping through constellations all night. I might move like a zombie."

Lily giggled. "What's a zombie?"

"Someone who keeps going even when they're super tired," the Star Bear explained. "Like when you want to stay up playing but can barely keep your eyes open!"

"Oh!" Lily clapped. "I know that feeling!"

They played the most magical game of padel ever invented. The Star Bear served star-dust balls that left glittery trails. The Bull batted them with his horns, sending shooting stars across the sky. Lily hit them back, and each time she did, a real star twinkled brighter overhead.

"We're making the night more beautiful!" Lily cried.

The Bull moved slower and slower, his eyes drooping. "I'm becoming a zombie, Bear," he yawned.

The Star Bear smiled. "That's because magic this wonderful makes us sleepy. But look what we've made."

Lily looked up. The whole sky was twinkling more brilliantly than she'd ever seen. The Great Bear constellation gave her a sparkling wink.

"Time for little stargazers to sleep," the Star Bear whispered, nuzzling Lily's cheek with his warm, fuzzy nose. "But we'll play again tomorrow night."

Lily climbed into bed, her heart full of magic. She fell asleep smiling, dreaming of padel games with bulls and bears, knowing the stars were shining brighter because of her friendship.

And somewhere in the night sky, a tired but happy bull and a sparkly bear were already planning their next magical game.
