The Magical Baseball Stream
Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, he would run to the old diamond behind the park, his glove bouncing against his hip. But today something magical happened.
Behind the backstop, where wildflowers grew tall, Leo discovered a tiny stream he'd never noticed before. The water sparkled like diamonds, flowing over smooth stones that glowed with an inner light.
"Hello there," said a small voice. Leo looked down to see a purple creature no bigger than his thumb, wearing a tiny baseball cap.
"I'm Vita," the creature said. "I'm a vitamin sprite! This water is magical—it gives anyone who drinks it the courage to try new things."
Leo's eyes grew wide. "But I'm already brave enough!"
"Are you?" Vita asked, tilting her head. "Then why won't you join the baseball team? You've been watching from the fence for weeks."
Leo looked at his shoes. It was true. He was afraid he wasn't good enough.
Vita hopped onto his shoulder. "Drink the water. Then come running with me to practice!"
Leo cupped his hands and took a sip. It tasted like sunshine and rainbows. Suddenly, his feet felt light as feathers. Vita giggled as they began running together—Leo racing across the field while Vita bounced on his shoulder like a tiny cheerleader.
When they reached the diamond, the coach was calling for volunteers. Leo's hand shot up before he could think twice.
He stepped to the plate, heart pounding. The pitcher wound up and threw. *CRACK!* The baseball sailed over the fence—a home run!
"Amazing!" everyone cheered. Vita winked from Leo's shoulder, invisible to everyone else.
That day, Leo learned something important: sometimes we all need a little magic to believe in ourselves. And the real magic wasn't in the water at all—it was the courage that had been inside him all along, just waiting for someone to help him see it.
From then on, Leo visited Vita and the magical stream before every game, running and laughing together. But even on days when the stream seemed ordinary, Leo remembered: the bravest thing you can do is simply try.
