The Magic Water Phone
Lily loved exploring the beach near her grandmother's cottage. One sunny morning, she found something strange half-buried in the sand - it looked like an old iphone, but it shimmered with rainbow colors.
"That's odd," she whispered, picking it up. But when she touched the screen, instead of apps appearing, tiny bubbles floated out! They popped and made little sounds like giggles.
Suddenly, the ground rumbled. From behind the rocks stumbled a creature - it looked like a zombie, but not scary at all. It was made entirely of flowing water, with seaweed for hair and tiny fish swimming inside its transparent body.
"Help me," the water zombie gurgled sadly. "I'm drying up!"
Lily looked at her magic iphone. More bubbles floated from it, creating a trail that led toward the ocean. The bubbles whispered, "Follow us!"
"Come with me!" Lily said, taking the water creature's hand. It felt cool and slippery, like holding a handful of pond water.
They followed the bubble trail, but the water zombie was growing smaller. With each step, parts of it dried up and turned into salt crystals.
"Hurry!" Lily cried. She held up her magical iphone, which now glowed bright blue. The device shot beams of light that summoned all nearby water. Ocean waves rushed up the beach, swirling around the water zombie and restoring its body.
The creature grew strong again, then splashed joyfully. "Thank you! I'm the Ocean's messenger, and I got stuck on land during high tide."
The water zombie gave Lily a magical shell that would always glow when she was near water. Her magic iphone faded back to an ordinary phone, but now it had a waterproof case that appeared from nowhere.
"Sometimes," Lily's grandmother said later, "the most ordinary things can become magical when you use them to help others."
Lily smiled, knowing that friendship was the greatest magic of all.
