The Magic Water Dance
Lily loved running through the meadow behind her house, her feet dancing over the soft grass like she was flying. One hot afternoon, she spotted something strange near the old willow tree - a creature shuffling slowly, arms stretched out like it was sleepwalking.
"Is that a zombie?" Lily whispered, her eyes wide. She'd seen zombies in movies, but they were scary. This creature looked different - its skin sparkled like sunshine, and its eyes twinkled like stars.
The creature held out a perfect orange fruit. "For you," it said in a voice like bubbling water. "I'm not a zombie. I'm a Water Spirit, and I've been sleeping for a hundred years under the willow tree. Your running woke me up!"
Lily took the orange. It was warm and glowed softly. "Why were you sleeping?"
"I was waiting for someone who believes in magic," the Water Spirit explained. "Most children are too busy with screens and games to notice the old magic. But you - you run with your heart open, ready for adventure."
The Water Spirit touched the orange, and suddenly, drops of water burst from it like tiny diamonds. The water floated in the air, forming pictures - dolphins dancing, rainbows stretching, children laughing and playing.
"This is orange water from the Magic River," the spirit said. "One drop makes anything grow. Two drops can heal sadness. Three drops can make dreams come true. But you must promise to share it."
Lily's heart swelled with happiness. "I promise! My friend Sam is sick, and my grandmother's garden needs flowers, and..." She counted on her fingers. "And maybe my cat could use some extra love too!"
The Water Spirit smiled, and its whole body shimmered like river ripples in sunlight. "You're special, Lily. You think of others before yourself. That's the real magic."
Together, they danced around the willow tree, the orange water swirling around them like glitter. Lily wasn't scared anymore. She'd found something better than any adventure - a magical friend who taught her that kindness is the greatest power of all.
That night, Lily placed three drops of orange water in Sam's room, three drops in her grandmother's garden, and one drop on her cat's nose. Everywhere the water touched, something beautiful grew - laughter, flowers, and purrs of happiness.
And sometimes, if you look carefully near an old willow tree, you might still see Lily running with her Water Spirit friend, their laughter floating like bubbles on the breeze.
