The Magic Vitamin Mix-Up

Lily's long brown hair had a secret. Whenever she laughed, tiny blue sparkles danced through her curls. Only her family knew this magic, and only her goldfish, Goldie, seemed to understand.

One sunny Saturday, Lily's grandmother gave her a special vitamin bottle from her trip to China. "This vitamin brings magic to whatever it touches," Grandma whispered with a twinkle in her eye.

Lily's little brother Max thought it was candy. When Lily wasn't looking, Max accidentally sprinkled the vitamin into Goldie's fishbowl while making funny faces.

That night, Lily heard giggling from the living room. She crept downstairs in her polka-dot pajamas, her blue sparkles glowing softly in the moonlight.

Goldie was floating OUTSIDE her bowl! But Goldie wasn't slimy or scary at all—she was dancing! Her scales shimmered like tiny stars, and she sang a little bubble song: "Bloopity-bloop, look at me! I'm the fish who's wild and free!"

"You're a... zombie fish!" Lily gasped, amazed.

Goldie laughed, blowing heart-shaped bubbles. "Not a zombie, silly! A ZIGGIE fish! Zany, intelligent, giggly, gleeful, imaginative, enthusiastic! That's what the magic vitamin does!"

Lily's hair sparkles burst with excitement. "Can I be a ziggie too?"

"Only if you promise to share the magic," Goldie said, flipping her rainbow tail.

Lily thought about her friend Emma who was sad because her cat ran away. She thought about her neighbor Mr. Jenkins who never smiled anymore since his wife passed away.

"I promise," Lily said. "But the vitamin's all gone."

Goldie tapped Lily's nose with a wet fin. "The magic wasn't in the vitamin. It was in the bravery you showed tonight. And your hair sparkles—they're not just magic. They're love, waiting to be shared."
