The Magic Vitamin at the Beach
Tommy loved two things more than anything else: swimming in the ocean and playing baseball with his best friend Mia. Every Saturday morning, they'd rush to the beach, where Tommy would splash in the waves while Mia practiced her pitching.
One sunny day, while Tommy was diving for seashells, something shiny caught his eye. It was a glowing orange capsule, pulsing like a tiny heart. When he picked it up, a sparkly voice whispered, "This is a magic vitamin! One swallow and you'll be amazing at anything you wish!"
Tommy's eyes widened. "Anything?"
"Anything!" the voice promised.
Tommy thought about how he always struck out when it was his turn to bat. He closed his eyes and made a wish. "I want to be a baseball superstar!"
He swallowed the magic vitamin. Instantly, he felt strong, fast, and confident. When Mia pitched the ball, Tommy hit it so far it disappeared into the clouds!
"You did it!" Mia cheered, jumping up and down.
But something felt wrong. Tommy wasn't having fun anymore. The game was too easy. Even worse, he forgot all about their favorite activity – swimming and diving for treasures together.
Days passed, and Tommy kept winning every game. But Mia stopped smiling. "You never want to go swimming anymore," she said sadly. "And baseball isn't fun when you never miss."
Tommy looked at his baseball glove, then at the sparkling ocean where they'd spent so many wonderful afternoons. He realized something important: the magic vitamin had made him good at baseball, but it had taken away the joy of playing and the magic of their friendship.
"I'm sorry, Mia," Tommy said. "I think I need to swim this vitamin out of my system!"
He splashed into the waves, diving deep until his fingers touched the sandy bottom. When he emerged, he felt lighter – and the magic was gone.
"Try batting again!" Mia called.
Tommy swung, missed, and tumbled into the sand laughing. Both of them giggled until their sides hurt.
"That's more like it!" Mia grinned.
From that day on, Tommy realized that real magic wasn't in a vitamin at all. The real magic was in playing games with friends, splashing in waves, and having fun whether you win or lose. And that, he discovered, was the best treasure of all.
