The Magic Tennis Ball
Max was no ordinary dog. He was a golden retriever with fur that sparkled like sunshine and a tail that never stopped wagging. Every day after school, the children gathered at the park to play games, and Max was always there, ready for adventure.
One sunny afternoon, Lily was practicing her swing with a bright yellow baseball bat. Max loved chasing the baseball across the grass, his paws thumping happily. But today, something magical happened when Max caught the ball. It began to glow!
"Look!" shouted Tom, who was nearby playing padel with his sister Mia. The tennis ball in Max's mouth was shimmering like a tiny star.
Suddenly, the ball spoke! "I've been waiting for someone who plays with pure joy," it said in a voice like jingle bells.
The children gathered around, amazed. Max dropped the glowing ball, and it floated in the air. "I grant one wish to those who play together with kindness," the ball announced.
Lily, Tom, and Mia looked at each other. They could have wished for anything—endless candy, a treehouse made of candy, or even the latest iphone filled with games.
But Max nudged Lily's hand with his wet nose, and she knew exactly what to wish for.
"We wish that every child in the world could have a friend like Max," Lily said, and the others nodded.
The ball sparkled brighter than ever before. It swirled around Max, who gave a happy bark, and suddenly the park was filled with golden light. When the light faded, Max wore a beautiful blue bandana around his neck, embroidered with a shining star.
"Your wish is granted," the magic ball said. "Max will now visit children who need a friend, bringing joy wherever he goes. And you three will always know when someone needs help."
From that day on, Max became known as the Magic Dog. Children whispered stories about how he appeared whenever someone felt lonely, bringing his favorite baseball for a game of fetch that always made them smile.
Lily, Tom, and Mia learned that the real magic wasn't the glowing ball at all. It was the kindness in their hearts and the friendship they shared with each other and with their wonderful dog.
And sometimes, if you look closely at the park on sunny afternoons, you might still see Max running with his baseball, his blue star-bandana shining bright, ready to make a new friend and share a little bit of magic.
