The Magic Spinach Pyramid
Lily hated spinach. Every time her mom served those green leaves, she made a yucky face.
One rainy afternoon, Lily was playing with her mom's old iPhone, taking pictures of everything in the house. Click! Click! Click!
She pointed the phone at her spinach dinner. Something strange happened on the screen! The spinach leaves began to glow and swirl, forming a beautiful green pyramid.
"What's that?" Lily whispered.
The green pyramid on her screen started spinning. Then, whoosh! A beam of light shot from the iPhone and filled her room. Lily wasn't afraid. She felt curious and brave.
She reached toward the light and suddenly found herself in a magical place! She was swimming in a sparkling blue river that flowed through a giant pyramid made entirely of spinach!
"Welcome!" called a voice.
Lily looked up and saw a friendly boy swimming toward her. "I'm Oliver! This is the Magic Spinach Kingdom!"
"But I hate spinach," Lily admitted.
Oliver laughed. "That's because you've never tasted it from our pyramid! Here, spinach gives you the power to swim like a fish and speak to animals!"
He pulled a shiny green leaf from the pyramid wall and offered it to her. Lily took a tiny bite. It tasted like sunshine and berries! Suddenly, she could swim faster than ever, and she heard fish giggling in the river.
"We use spinach to keep our kingdom strong," Oliver explained. "The pyramid collects all the magic from healthy food."
Lily and Oliver spent the afternoon swimming through spinach caves and meeting talking turtles. When it was time to leave, Oliver gave her a special spinach leaf necklace.
"Whenever you try something new," Oliver said, "remember: even the things you think you hate might have magic inside."
Lily woke up at the dinner table, the iPhone still in her hand. Her mom looked surprised.
"Sweetie, are you actually eating your spinach?"
Lily smiled and took another bite. She could almost hear the fish giggling.
"It's magic," she said. "Can I have some more?"
