The Magic Pyramid's Secret
Lily and Max were playing in their backyard when they noticed something strange. Behind the old oak tree, where there had always been just grass, now stood a golden pyramid. It shimmered like sunshine, even though it was a cloudy afternoon.
"Let's explore!" said Lily, grabbing her brother's hand.
Inside the pyramid, they gasped. Instead of walls, there was a swimming pool filled with sparkling water that glowed orange. But the most amazing surprise was what they saw next.
A small green figure sat on a bench, holding a padel racket. It looked like a zombie from storybooks, but instead of being scary, it was... smiling?
"Hello!" said the zombie, whose name was Zippy. "I've been waiting for friends for three hundred years! Want to play padel?"
Lily and Max looked at each other. All the stories said zombies were scary. But Zippy looked kind of lonely.
"Yes!" said Max bravely. "But I've never played before."
"It's easy!" Zippy laughed, tossing them each an orange racket. "Hit the ball back and forth. The magic of the pyramid helps anyone who plays with friendship in their heart."
They played for hours, laughing as Zippy taught them tricks. When they got tired, they all went swimming together in the orange-glowing water. It wasn't scary at all – it felt like swimming in warm sunshine.
"Why were you alone all this time?" Lily asked softly.
Zippy looked sad. "Everyone saw me and ran away. They thought I was scary because of how I look. But I just wanted friends."
Lily hugged him. "We're your friends now, Zippy. And we'll come back every day!"
When it was time to leave, Zippy gave them each a small orange crystal. "If you ever need me, squeeze this, and the pyramid will appear."
That night, Lily and Max learned something important: sometimes the scariest-looking things just need a little kindness. And real friendship doesn't care what someone looks like – it only cares about what's in their heart.
The next day, they returned with more friends. Because that's what magical adventures are for – sharing with everyone you love.
