The Magic Pyramid Pitch

Leo stood in his backyard, baseball glove ready. His golden retriever, Buster, barked excitedly, tail wagging like a metronome.

"Ready, boy?" Leo called. He pitched the baseball with all his might. But instead of sailing straight, the ball curved upward—higher and higher—until it disappeared into a cloud that suddenly shimmered like spun sugar.

Buster gave a curious whine and bounded toward the garden shed. Leo followed, pushing aside ivy to reveal something impossible: a glowing pyramid, small as a dollhouse but pulsing with ancient light.

"Whoa," Leo breathed. Buster sniffed it bravely.

The pyramid's golden surface rippled like water. Inside, tiny figures played—the most magnificent baseball game Leo had ever seen. But they weren't using ordinary baseballs. They hit stars that streaked across tiny skies.

A voice whispered, "Kindness unlocks magic."

Leo realized his special baseball hadn't been lost. It had been chosen.

Buster nudged Leo's hand. Suddenly Leo understood. Every afternoon, Buster patiently retrieved balls, never complaining. Leo sometimes forgot to say thank you.

"You're the best teammate ever," Leo told Buster, scratching behind his ears. "I'm lucky to have you."

The pyramid blazed warm with approval. When the light faded, Leo's baseball sat on the grass—except now it sparkled with tiny constellations.

That day, Leo learned something better than any home run: the real magic wasn't in pyramids or enchanted baseballs. It was in gratitude, friendship, and noticing the wonder right beside you.

Buster barked, and Leo knew exactly what he meant: "Best friends forever—and never forget the magic."
