The Magic Pyramid of Orange Grove

Lily found the mysterious black cable behind her grandmother's attic trunk. It hummed with a soft glow, vibrating like a sleeping cat. Her orange tabby, Mango, rubbed against her leg, purring curiously.

"What do you suppose this does?" Lily whispered, slipping on her grandfather's old velvet hat. It was too big, but it made her feel brave, like an explorer from storybooks.

The cable seemed to pull her forward, winding through the garden, past the rosebushes, toward the old oak tree at the edge of Orange Grove. Mango trotted beside her, tail high.

Beneath the tree's twisted roots lay something extraordinary—a shimmering golden pyramid, small as a jewel box. The cable plugged right into its side, and suddenly, the pyramid glowed warm and bright.

Inside, Lily saw tiny lights dancing like fireflies. They swirled and formed shapes—a laughing fox, a wise owl, a brave bear. The pyramid was showing stories!

"It's a memory keeper," a voice said. An old woman appeared—Lily's neighbor, Ms. Willow, whom everyone called the Keeper of Tales. "This pyramid holds the happiest moments of everyone who's ever lived in Orange Grove."

Lily's eyes widened. "Can I add mine?"

Ms. Willow smiled. "Only if you share it with a friend."

Lily thought of her best friend Leo, who had moved away last month. She closed her eyes and remembered their adventures—building forts, catching frogs, laughing until their bellies hurt. She whispered these memories into the pyramid.

The golden lights swirled faster, then shot up into the sky like tiny stars, carrying her wishes to wherever Leo was.

"Memories connect us, no matter how far apart we are," Ms. Willow said gently. "That's the magic of friendship."

That night, Lily's phone buzzed. A message from Leo: "I saw the most beautiful lights tonight, and I thought of you."

Lily smiled, touching her velvet hat. The cable, the pyramid, the magic—they had all been real. But the true magic was friendship, brighter than any golden glow.

Mango purred softly, and Lily knew that some bonds could stretch across any distance, connecting hearts like an invisible cable of love.
