The Magic Pyramid in Her Palm

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's attic, especially on rainy afternoons. Today, something sparkled from inside an old wooden chest. She reached in and pulled out a tiny golden pyramid, no bigger than her thumb.

As she held it in her palm, the pyramid began to glow! Suddenly, a fluffy orange cat appeared out of nowhere, sitting calmly on an old trunk. The cat had the brightest amber eyes Lily had ever seen.

"You found it," the cat said. Lily almost dropped the pyramid in surprise.

"You can talk?"

"Of course," said the cat, whose name was Cleo. "That's the Pyramid of Wishes. It grants one wish to someone with a pure heart. But be careful — wishes have a way of teaching us lessons."

Lily thought hard. She could wish for anything! She looked at her old, scratched iphone on the floor. She could wish for a brand new one with all the best games. But then she remembered her friend Emma, whose family couldn't afford a phone.

"I wish," Lily said slowly, "that Emma could have her own phone so we can video chat every day."

The pyramid glowed brighter than ever, then turned into an ordinary stone. The next day, Emma's parents surprised her with exactly what she needed — a simple phone for staying in touch.

"You made a very wise choice," Cleo the cat purred. "You didn't wish for things for yourself. You wished for friendship."

Lily learned that day that the best magic isn't in pyramids or wishes. The real magic is kindness, friendship, and thinking of others before yourself. And sometimes, the greatest adventures begin with a small, selfless choice made from the heart.

Cleo still visits Lily sometimes, and though the pyramid never glowed again, Lily didn't mind. She had something better — a friend who understood that the greatest treasures are the ones we share.
