The Magic Pyramid and the Dancing Dog
Lily loved exploring behind her grandmother's old house. One sunny afternoon, she found something glimmering near the creek. It was a tiny pyramid, no bigger than her thumb, made of sparkling crystal.
"What are you?" Lily whispered, picking it up. The pyramid felt warm, like it held sunshine inside.
Suddenly, her dog Buster bounded over. Buster was a silly golden retriever who loved to chase his tail. But when Buster nudged the pyramid, something magical happened! The pyramid began to glow, and tiny lights swirled around Buster's head.
"Buster! You're floating!" Lily gasped. Indeed, Buster was hovering three inches above the grass, his golden fur waving like seaweed in water.
The pyramid spoke in a tinkling voice, "I am the Pyramid of Dreams. Once every hundred years, I grant one special wish."
Lily's grandfather appeared, wearing his favorite floppy hat. "Ah, I've been waiting for this day," he said with a twinkle in his eye. "The Pyramid of Dreams chose you, Lily. What will you wish for?"
Lily thought hard. She could wish for toys, or candy, or to fly like a superhero. But she looked at Buster, who was still floating happily. She looked at the creek where fish swam and birds drank. She looked at her grandfather's kind face.
"I wish," said Lily carefully, "that every child could have a friend like Buster, and a place as beautiful as this to explore."
The pyramid flashed rainbow colors. The magic spread outward — across the meadow, through the town, into every heart. Children everywhere suddenly noticed the magic around them. A stray puppy became a best friend. A park became an adventure kingdom. A simple rainstorm became a dance of wonder.
Grandfather patted Lily's head, knocking his hat askew. "You made the wisest wish, my dear. The best magic is the kind we share."
That night, Lily slept with the pyramid under her pillow and Buster curled at her feet. She dreamed of children everywhere discovering their own magic — in a dog's wagging tail, in a splash of water, in a friend's smile. And she knew that the real magic wasn't the pyramid at all. It was the love she carried in her heart, ready to share with the world.
