The Magic Pool's Secret Friend
In a garden where the sunflowers grew taller than the fence, there lived a girl named Mia with the curliest, bounciest **hair** anyone had ever seen. Her hair bounced when she walked, bounced when she laughed, and bounced when she discovered something wonderful.
One hot afternoon, Mia sat by her backyard **pool**, dipping her toes in the cool blue water. She loved watching her little orange **goldfish**, Sparkle, swim around and around in his special bowl beside the pool. Sparkle was special - Mia was sure Sparkle could understand everything she said. Sometimes, Sparkle would even blow bubbles that seemed to say 'hello!'
Suddenly, the ground shook! Thump, thump, thump! A large, gentle **bull** with a golden ring in his nose appeared at the pool's edge. But this bull looked different. His eyes were half-closed, and he walked with slow, wobbly steps, like he was floating through a dream.
'Are you okay?' Mia asked softly, standing up slowly so she wouldn't scare him.
The bull opened one sleepy eye. 'I... I think I'm a **zombie**,' he mooed sadly. 'I woke up feeling all fuzzy and slow, and everyone ran away from me. The farmer said I was walking funny.'
Mia looked closer and noticed something. The bull's legs were covered in purple dust - the same purple dust that came from her grandmother's patch of sleeping flowers! Those flowers made anyone who touched them feel very, very sleepy.
'You're not a zombie at all!' Mia exclaimed. 'You're just tired from the sleeping flowers!'
She led the gentle bull to the garden hose and carefully washed off his legs with cool water. Then she gave him fresh, sweet clover to eat, far away from the sleepy purple flowers.
Slowly, the bull's eyes brightened. He stopped wobbling and gave a happy, loud moo.
'Thank you, Mia!' he said. 'I feel awake again! I'm not a zombie - I'm just Barnaby the Bull!'
Mia learned something important that day: sometimes, things that seem scary are just misunderstood. And if you take the time to look closer, you might find a friend where you least expect one. Her curly hair bounced with joy as she waved goodbye to Barnaby, while Sparkle the goldfish blew happy bubbles, glad to have witnessed such a wonderful adventure about kindness and understanding.
