The Magic Pool's Secret
Lily loved exploring her grandmother's backyard, especially the old stone pool hidden behind the rose bushes. It wasn't a swimming pool — just a small circle of water that shimmered like liquid silver under the moonlight.
One hot afternoon, Lily carried a ripe papaya from the kitchen. Its golden skin glowed in the sunlight, and its sweet scent filled the air. She wanted to have a picnic by the pool, but something magical happened when she accidentally dropped the papaya into the water.
Instead of sinking, the papaya began to grow! It stretched upward, its skin turning to stone, its shape transforming into a tiny golden pyramid that rose from the pool's center. The water around it sparkled with rainbow colors.
"Wow!" whispered Lily, leaning closer.
From inside the papaya-pyramid, a little creature emerged — a Papaya Pixie with wings like flower petals and skin the color of sunset. "Thank you for freeing me!" the pixie chimed. "I was trapped inside that papaya for a hundred years!"
The pixie told Lily that the magic pool could show the future to those with kind hearts. But it only worked when someone shared something special without expecting anything in return.
Lily thought about her lunch. She had saved the biggest papaya for herself, leaving the smaller one for her little brother. Now she understood.
"I should have shared my papaya with Tommy," Lily said sadly.
The pixie smiled. "You've learned the secret! The pool doesn't need magic — it needs kindness." With a wave of the pixie's hand, the pyramid sank back into the water, becoming a papaya again. But this time, it had split perfectly in half.
Lily ran inside and found her brother. "Tommy, look! The magic pool gave us something special to share together!"
As they sat by the water eating their papaya, Lily knew the real magic wasn't in the pool or the pyramid or even the pixie. The true magic was in sharing with someone you love.
That night, Lily dreamed of papaya pyramids and pixie wings, but her favorite part was remembering how happy Tommy's face looked when they shared their magical treat.
