The Magic Pool's Secret

Lily loved summer, especially when she could play padel with her best friend Mateo at the park. They'd laugh and run, hitting the ball back and forth until sunset painted the sky orange. But today something strange happened.

Lily's iphone tumbled from her bag and bounced—straight into the old fountain pool behind the courts. It wasn't just any pool. This one had shimmering water that changed colors like a rainbow.

"My phone!" Lily cried. But before she could reach in, the water began to glow.

A tiny fish with scales like emeralds popped up. Beside it floated what looked like a glowing blue vitamin. The fish spoke in a voice like tinkling bells: "This pool gives gifts to those who truly need them. What matters more to you—your phone, or something that can help your friend feel better?"

Lily blinked. Mateo had been sad lately, missing his grandmother who lived far away. He'd stopped laughing during their padel games.

The magical fish swirled its tail. "Choose wisely. One phone, or one wish that will bring smiles back?"

Lily looked at Mateo, then back at the pool. "I choose my friend's happiness."

The vitamin dissolved into sparkles that swirled around Mateo, who gasped as warmth filled his heart. Images of his grandmother's smile flashed through his mind, along with the knowledge that she loved him and was proud of him every single day.

Tears of joy streamed down Mateo's face. "I can feel her love!"

Lily's iphone floated to the surface, completely dry. The fish winked. "Real magic doesn't need screens. But you proved what matters most—true friendship."

That day, Lily and Mateo learned the most important lesson: the best magic isn't found in phones or wishes, but in choosing kindness for someone you love.
