The Magic Pool Pyramid
Lily splashed into the cool blue water on the hottest day of summer. Her golden retriever, Buster, barked happily from the pool's edge, his tail waging like a fuzzy metronome.
"Come in, Buster!" Lily called. The dog hesitated, then slipped into the water with a giant splash.
Lily gathered every pool noodle, float, and toy she could find. She stacked them carefully, higher and higher, until they formed a magnificent pyramid that reached toward the sky. Sunlight danced on the water's surface, making the colorful pyramid shimmer like a rainbow.
Suddenly, the pyramid began to glow. Soft light pulsed from its center, and the water started swirling like a gentle whirlpool. Lily and Buster spun round and round until—POOF!
They landed on soft, golden sand. Before them stood a real pyramid, ancient and mysterious. A girl with starlight in her hair appeared. "I'm Cleo," she said. "Welcome to the Land of Imagination."
But something shambled toward them from behind a dune. It looked like a zombie—green skin, tattered clothes, moving very slowly indeed. Buster growled softly.
"Don't be afraid," Cleo whispered. "That's just Zed. He's not scary at all."
Zed dragged closer. "Hello," he mumbled sadly. "Would you like to play tag? I'm always 'it' because I'm so slow."
Lily smiled. "We'd love to play! And I have an idea." She pulled Zed's arm over her shoulder and Buster trotted beside them. Together, they ran through the golden sand, laughing and playing until sunset painted the sky.
"Being slow doesn't mean you can't have fun," Lily told Zed. "You just need friends who'll wait for you."
Cleo beamed. "You've learned the greatest magic of all—the magic of true friendship."
With a twinkling sound, Lily found herself back in her pool, the noodle pyramid bobbing beside her. Buster shook water everywhere, spraying droplets like diamonds. But in her pocket, something glittered—a small golden pyramid, and a note that read: "True friends see with their hearts, not just their eyes."
