The Magic Pool Portal

Lily's golden retriever, Max, was the best dog in the whole world. He had a way of tilting his head when he was confused, and his tail never stopped wagging. But today, Max was staring at the backyard pool with wide, worried eyes.

"What's wrong, buddy?" Lily asked, kneeling beside him.

Max whimpered and pawed at the water. Lily's mom's iPhone lay on the pool deck, its screen cracked from when she'd dropped it that morning. Lily had been supposed to clean it, but she'd forgotten — again.

Suddenly, the pool water began to glow. Sparkles danced across the surface like tiny stars. Max barked joyfully and jumped right in!

"Max! No!" Lily cried, but instead of splashing, Max sank slowly — as if the water had turned to mist.

Without thinking, Lily grabbed the iPhone and plunged in after him.

She didn't get wet. Instead, she floated through a tunnel of swirling colors, holding tight to Max's fur and the phone. When they emerged, they weren't in the pool anymore.

They stood in a magical kingdom where flowers sang and trees whispered secrets. A tiny dragon fluttered above them.

"You found the Lost Phone of Light!" the dragon cheered. "It belongs to the Pool Princess!"

Lily realized the iPhone wasn't just her mom's phone — it was magical! She held it out, and its screen showed the way through enchanted forests and candy mountains to a crystal castle.

At the castle, the Pool Princess smiled. "Thank you for returning my phone. It holds the memories of every splash, every laugh, every summer day." She touched the screen, and it became new again.

"For your kindness and bravery," the Princess said, "you may visit anytime — but only if you've done your chores first."

Lily and Max tumbled back into their pool, splashing real water this time. The iPhone worked perfectly, and Lily's mom never knew what happened.

That night, Lily finally cleaned her room without being asked. Because sometimes, the best magic starts with being responsible.
