The Magic Pool of Wishes

Lila loved to explore the beach near her grandmother's house. Every morning, she would run past the swaying **palm** trees until she reached her favorite spot – a hidden tide **pool** that sparkled like diamonds when the sun hit it just right.

One day, as Lila peered into the clear water, she noticed something unusual. Her reflection smiled back at her, but the girl in the water had long, flowing **hair** that shimmered with all the colors of the rainbow.

"Hello!" said the reflection-girl. "I'm Marina! Want to play?"

Lila gasped. "You can talk?"

Marina laughed, and the sound was like seashells chiming together. "Of course! This is the Magic Pool of Wishes. When children with kind hearts visit, they can see into my world beneath the waves."

Lila's eyes grew wide. "Can I visit too?"

"Take my hand," Marina said, reaching up from the water.

When Lila touched Marina's cool, smooth hand, something magical happened. The world spun around her, and suddenly she was underwater, breathing easily as if she'd always belonged there.

Fish danced around her in swirls of orange and blue. A wise old turtle slowly swam by and nodded hello. Marina showed Lila secret gardens of coral where tiny crabs played hide-and-seek.

"Every child who visits leaves something special behind," Marina explained. "What would you like to give to the ocean?"

Lila thought carefully. She could have given shells or pretty stones, but instead she whispered, "I want to give kindness. So every time someone visits this pool, they feel happy and loved."

The water glowed golden around them. Marina's rainbow hair sparkled even brighter. "That's the best gift of all," she said softly.

When Lila emerged back on the beach, she noticed something different. The tide pool seemed to sparkle even more than before, and she felt warm inside, like she was carrying sunshine in her heart.

From that day on, Lila visited the magic pool often. She never told anyone about Marina – some secrets are too special to share. But she noticed that other children who found the pool always left smiling, their hearts full of wonder.

And whenever the palm trees swayed in the breeze, Lila liked to think they were whispering thanks for the kindness she had shared between two worlds.
