The Magic Pool of Rainbow Drops
Lily loved summer more than anything. Most of all, she loved the old swimming pool in her grandmother's backyard. It wasn't fancy — just a round pool with paint peeling off the sides — but Lily knew it was special.
One hot afternoon, Lily was swimming alone when she noticed something sparkling at the bottom of the pool. She dove down and discovered a tiny glass bottle no bigger than her thumb. Inside were colorful drops that shimmered like liquid rainbow.
"What are you?" she whispered, shaking the bottle.
A small face appeared in the water's surface — a water sprite named Pearl with hair made of bubbles. "Those are Magic Vitamins," Pearl said. "Each color gives a different gift. Red for courage, blue for calm, yellow for joy, green for kindness."
Lily's eyes widened. "Really?"
"But you must use them wisely," Pearl warned. "The magic works only when you help others."
The next day, Lily's little brother Sam was afraid to swim. He stood at the pool's edge, trembling. Lily remembered the red drop. She squeezed one tiny drop into the water, and suddenly Sam jumped right in, laughing and splashing with newfound bravery.
On Wednesday, her friend Mei was sad about moving away. Lily added a yellow drop to Mei's bath water. Mei's sadness melted into beautiful memories and laughter.
By Friday, only the green drop remained. Lily saw a new girl, Aisha, sitting alone at the pool's edge while others played. The green drop of kindness swirled through the water, and soon Aisha was swimming alongside new friends, her smile bright as sunshine.
That evening, Pearl appeared again. "You've used all the Magic Vitamins wisely. But look — your bottle is full again."
Lily gasped. The bottle had refilled with even more drops than before.
"That's the secret," Pearl said, diving back into the shimmering water. "Kindness always grows when you share it."
Lily smiled, diving into the magical pool where every splash could become someone else's joy. She understood now that the real magic wasn't in the bottle at all — it was in the heart that chooses to give.
